Faksimilen (fotokopien) fra den trykte bog vises når kameraikonen er aktiveret.

Indholdsfortegnelsen giver også adgang til søgning.

Når en illustration vises, kan du klikke på den for at få den vist i et separat vindue og dernæst zoome ind.

E-boglæseren fungerer korrekt i alle moderne og gængse webbrowsere (i 2024) på både store skærme (pc, Mac og Chromebook) og små skærme (smartphones).

Du kan bruge tastatur til at bladre til foregående side med PageUp, ⇦ (venstre pil), Ctrl + ⇦ (Windows) eller ⌘ + ⇦ (Mac).  Til at bladre til næste side bruges PageDown, ⇨ (højre pil), Ctrl + ⇨ (Windows) eller ⌘ + ⇨ (Mac).

På touchskærme, hvor browseren supporterer det (fx smartphones), kan der bladres tilbage og frem ved at swipe hhv. til højre og venstre.

E-bogen overholder EPUB3-standarden fra 2011.

E-bogen indeholder usædvanligt mange sider (4.628 sider plus illustrationer), og de fleste sider er "scripted" bl.a. til fremvisning af faksimiler (fotokopier).  Det kræver en moderne, fuldt udbygget og robust e-bogsapplikation.  Mange af markedets nuværende e-bogsapplikationer (i 2024) lever ikke op til dette.  Derfor er det typisk bedst at benytte ovenstående webbaserede applikation til læsning af e-bogen.  Bogens mange faksimiler og illustrationer hentes løbende fra Det Kgl. Biblioteks webserver, og det kræver internetforbindelse under læsningen.  Kun således kan denne store e-bog holdes i en håndtérbar filstørrelse.

The e-book complies with the EPUB3 standard from 2011.

The e-book contains an unusually high amount of pages (4,628 pages plus illustrations), and most pages are "scripted" to display facsimiles (photocopies) a.o.  Hence a modern, full-fledged and robust e-book application is needed.  Many of the e-book applications on the present market (2024) do not meet this requirement.  Therefore, it is typically best to use the above web-based application for reading the e-book.  Note that the many facsimiles and the illustrations in the e-book are loaded on-the-fly from the Royal Library's web server, so you need an Internet connection while reading.  Only this way can we keep this large e-book to a manageable file size.
